Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD): What is it?
A commercial grade item (CGI) can be designated for use as a basic component that is appropriate for use in a nuclear power plant and will carry out its specified safety function through the use of Commercial Grade Dedication Services (CGD Services). Because of this, the commercial grade item is regarded as being equal to an item designed and manufactured under a 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, nuclear quality assurance program. At Tyne, every essential feature of the CGI is recognized, and its suitability is confirmed by rigorous examinations, experiments, and evaluations, making the CGI qualified to fulfill nuclear requirements.
At Tyne, the Commercial Grade Item is qualified to fulfill nuclear standards because all of its essential features are defined and their acceptability is confirmed through extensive inspections, tests, and analyses. An outstanding team of engineers with vast experience in nuclear safety applications makes up the Commercial Grade Dedication Division.
We assess each of the important factors and draft a dedication plan. In order to allow commercial products to be used in safety-related systems, we have the capacity to conduct internal testing on any required characteristic and verify compliance with the requirements.
